Margaret Ellis

Professional

 Margaret is an Agent and Horse Insurance Specialist. She brings attention to detail from her background as a Legal Editor at the Arkansas State Capitol, a love of the outdoors and hospitality from her years as a Park Ranger, and a lifelong love of horses.

Organizations

Margaret is a current United States Pony Club (USPC) member, serving on the USPC National Show Jumping Committee for fifteen years, and tasked as committee Volunteer Coordinator  for the National Championships for twelve years and Organizer for three years.  She also served as District Commissioner of her local club – Rackensack Pony Club – for several years, and still gets tremendous enjoyment from seeing the capability of the young horsemen and women she watched grow up.  Margaret is a supporter of the Little Rock Animal Village, and is lucky to be loved by two rescued dogs and three rescued cats. She is an avid gardener, and a member of Garvan Woodland Gardens.

Personal

Margaret’s grandfathers were horsemen who helped her with her naughty pony, and were very happy when she bought her first well-trained horse. She competed in local Hunters in college and early married life, and still loves trail riding. She has two daughters, who grew up riding and caring for their horses at their farm in Scott, AR. The lucky finds of two horses for her oldest daughter – an exceptional pony and a talented Thoroughbred – led to exciting years of showing on a national level for the family team of Margaret, her husband Ted, and her girls.
