Steps to take if your horse is ill or injured:
Call your veterinarian
Call your insurance carrier
Contacting your Insurance Carrier:
If your insured horse is ill or injured or requires non-routine veterinary care, you are required to contact the insurance carrier. Please have the following information available:
Your Policy Number
The name of the horse(s) involved
The nature of the accident or illness
Where the horse is located
The name and phone number of the treating veterinarian
** Your coverage may be adversely affected if you fail to immediately notify your insurance carrier. Authorization is Required for Elective Procedures/Surgery **
** If your horse dies, you must have a necropsy report to determine the cause of death. **

If your policy number begins with AMP, please contact Great American Insurance Company at 800-331-0211.
If your policy number begins with AEM or EMP, please contact National Equine Adjusting at 800-783-9418.
If your policy number begins with BAS or UST, please contact the adjuster for XL Caitlin, RJ Ketch, at 800-732-6012
